Meet Martha

One thing you should know about me: I'm incredibly protective.

Once I become part of something, I care about it, whether that's a business, a team, a project, or the people behind it. I don't do the bare minimum or check boxes for the sake of it. I pay attention, ask questions, and want to understand how everything fits together, because that's the only way to protect what someone has worked so hard to build.

My brain genuinely enjoys untangling things. When a workflow feels clunky, a process has gotten unnecessarily complicated, or a business has outgrown the way it operates, I want to know why. Usually the fix is simply stripping things back to what actually works, then using today's technology to support that instead of making everyone's job harder.

I've worked inside organizations across the United States and Canada, from founder-led businesses to large public organizations. Different industries mean different rules, cultures, and ways of operating, but every experience has taught me something about building systems people can actually rely on.

I'm also not easily intimidated. I've spent my career alongside executives, founders, department heads, elected officials, and leadership teams where expectations are high and difficult conversations come with the territory. I've learned that some of the most valuable things you can bring to a business are honesty, good judgment, and the confidence to speak up when something isn't working.

Work with me, and you'll quickly find that I care about your business almost as much as you do. That's probably my greatest strength. The operational work comes naturally. Caring about the outcome is the part you can't teach.

Why This Work Matters to Me

I started my career running a 25,000-square-foot marquee retail location inside one of the largest, highest-volume shopping malls in the country. People often assume retail is about folding shirts. There was plenty of that too, but my job was running the business behind it: full P&L, multi-level team leadership, vendor relationships, and mall-wide operations.

That's where I learned the difference between a business that runs well and one that constantly feels reactive. More often than not, the difference isn't the people. It's whether someone took the time to build systems that people actually use, instead of relying on one person to keep everything in their head.

That became my strength. I started noticing the places where good people were working way harder than they needed to, simply because no one had stopped to fix the process.

One of the chapters I'm most proud of was helping build a remote-first ecommerce company from its early years into a multi-million-dollar global brand. I was part of the original team, and I helped build much of the operational infrastructure that let the business grow without everything falling apart behind the scenes.

I learned what it takes to scale something without losing the soul of it. And I learned what happens when a business stops valuing the people who built it.

That's probably why I care so much about the businesses I work with. I know what it feels like when everything depends on one exhausted person holding it together. I also know how different it feels when the right systems are in place and people finally have room to breathe again.

When I step into a business, I treat it like it's my own. I take ownership, I follow through, and I care about getting it right.

How I actually work

I do not need to be managed. Give me context, give me access, and get out of my way. I will figure out what needs to happen and I will make it happen.

I ask a lot of questions upfront because I would rather understand your business deeply than make assumptions and fix the wrong things. Once I know what is actually going on, I move fast. I document everything. And I believe strong operations should support the business long after the first cleanup is done.

I have also learned that the best operational work is not just about structure. It is about trust. I have held roles where confidentiality was not a professional courtesy but a requirement, backed by extensive vetting and clearance processes. The stakes of a misstep in those environments were serious, and being someone people could rely on completely was the baseline, not the bonus. That standard does not turn off when I log into your systems.

My goal is never to create dependency. My goal is to create stability, structure, and breathing room. Of course, some clients decide they never want me to leave, and honestly, I take that as a compliment. Whether you need project-based operational refinement or an ongoing operational partner invested in helping your business continue evolving over time, I’m here to support your long-term business growth.

A few things that are true about working with me: I will tell you what I actually think. I will push back if something does not make sense. I will not pad a project or upsell you on something you do not need. And I will always, always follow through.

A Little More About Who I Am

I am a South Florida girl by way of Mississippi & Canada, which means I have lived a few different lives. I am authorized to work in both the US and Canada, which comes in handy more than you might think.

I'm married with three daughters, which has made me exceptionally good at prioritization, flexibility, and staying calm when everything needs attention at once.

In 2020 our family made the decision to adopt a plant-based lifestyle. That eventually led to Sunshine & Bloom Bakery, where I experienced firsthand what it takes to build and run an ecommerce business while balancing full-time operations work.

Building Sunshine & Bloom Bakery gave me firsthand personal experience with fulfillment, customer service, logistics, inventory, marketing, and the realities of owning a business where every decision affects the customer experience.

Outside of work I recharge by reading, traveling, staying active, and spending time with my family. Those things remind me that good work should support a full life - not consume it

The Companies I Work Best With

I am selective about who I partner with, and I think that is a good thing for both of us.

Not because I expect every business to operate like I do, but because I know where I bring the most value.

The people I enjoy working with care about building something that lasts. They care about how their business runs, not just the numbers. They want their team to have what they need to do great work, and they understand that strong operations make growth possible.

I like working with leaders who want honest conversations. The ones who are willing to look at what's actually happening and fix problems instead of working around them forever.

If you're looking for someone who will step in, understand how your business actually operates, and help build the structure that lets you keep growing, I would love to talk.
